Editorial Photo Illustrations

I love editorial photo illustrations. It’s really fun taking something that already exists and making it into something new.

At Smithsonian magazine, we report a lot on historical content, and there are many instances when the provided images are not very engaging. So, photo illustrations were introduced as a way for the visuals to better mimic the energy of the written piece.   

Over the last few years, I have created many photo illustrations, working closely with the editorial team to help bring their visions to life.
